What is Reiki?

Reiki is a gentle, hands-on healing technique.  Reiki means "universal life energy".  Reiki is offered in many spas alongside massage and acupressure. It is used in hospitals, hospices, and nursing homes as a complement to traditional medicine.    This life energy force can be tapped and directed to help revitalize and restore harmony and to promote well-being.  Receiving Reiki can help reduce stress, relieve pain, facilitate physical and emotional health, and restore mental clarity and focus.   During a Reiki Treatment, the Practitioner places their hands in specific, non-invasive positions on the recipients fully clothed body, or the energy field surrounding the body, allowing universal life energy to flow through. 

What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the use of volatile plant oils for physical and psychological well-being. These fragrant oils are inhaled, or absorbed through the skin.  Each essential oil has a specifice effect on the body and mind.  Different oil blends are available that are calming, invigorating, or harmonizing.  Once in our body, the essential oils work in harmony with the body to create balance and stimulate physical, emotional and spiritual comfort.

The gentle, safe and relaxing touch of reiki is enhanced when combined with the balancing and restorative effects of the aromatic essential oils.  Adding aromatherapy creates a spa-like setting for the reiki treatment and deepens the state of relaxation and well-being that can be acheived.
